The Schools of Biology, Geology and Civil Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki organize and operate an Inter-School Postgraduate Program (MSc) in the "Intergraded Management of River Basins and Coastal Areas (RBCA)" which approaches modern and integrated monitoring of aquatic ecosystems, river basins, and coastal areas with respect to the Environment, Human and Sustainable Development.

The purpose of the IPSP is to promote an interdisciplinary approach to ecological quality and water management at river basin and coastal areas and management applications in accordance with Directives 2000/60/ EC on Water and 2008/56/EC on Marine Strategy.

The program aims at providing a high level of postgraduate education and the education of specialized scientific personnel in individual areas of the sciences of Biology, Geology and Civil Engineering, for the staffing of the wider public sector (Institutes and Research Centers, Management Bodies - Regions - Fisheries Supervisors, Port Organizations, etc.), but also the private sector (Research Offices, Environmental Impact and Biosecurity Centers, etc.).
